INWIT Integrated Report 2023: commitments undertaken and results achieved for an increasingly connected and sustainable future
The first INWIT Integrated Report is now available online, containing the Company’s Annual Financial Report and Non-Financial Statement.
The document represents a significant milestone in the reporting journey undertaken by INWIT since 2020 and aims to provide a coherent and integrated view of the Company to all its stakeholders, showcasing the performances achieved and commitments made. The integration of sustainability into business represents an important factor for the creation of value, not only for shareholders, but for all stakeholders.
The Integrated Report outlines the path towards building a sustainable business model and the value creation process over time undertaken by INWIT, with a structure that follows the division into capitals as variables determining growth, in line with the approach of the IR framework (International Integrated Reporting Council – IIRC).
INWIT achieved numerous results and recognitions last year, starting from the Top Employers certification, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to the well-being and development of people and the improvement of the work environment, to the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for Gender Equality.
Furthermore, INWIT strengthened its decarbonization strategy, obtaining validation of its Net Zero target by 2040 from the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi), an initiative that supports the definition of emission reduction targets based on climate science, in line with the level of decarbonization needed to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and limit global warming to below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels, with efforts to further limit it to 1.5°C. Confirming the robustness of its climate strategy, INWIT achieved a leadership level in the CDP Climate Change, the main rating measuring companies’ climate commitments, with a score of A-.
In 2023 INWIT was included in the Bloomberg GEI and FTSE4Good – two of the main ESG indices – becoming prime status in the ISS ESG rating and receiving an upgrade from B to A by GRESB.
