INWIT has been included, for the first time, in the Euronext Equileap Gender Equality Eurozone 100 Index, the thematic ESG equity index developed by Euronext in collaboration with Equileap, which measures the performance of the 100 listed companies in the Eurozone with the strongest results in gender equality.
The index, aligned with Goal 5 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, is drawn from the Euronext Eurozone 300, the index of the 300 largest listed companies in the Eurozone by market capitalization, managed by Euronext, the leading pan-European exchange operator that runs, among others, the markets in Milan, Paris and Amsterdam.
From this group of 300 companies, the top 100 are selected based on their performance across several evaluation criteria: gender balance in leadership and workforce, equal pay and work-life balance, gender equality policies, commitment and accountability.
“Being included by Euronext and Equileap among the 100 Eurozone companies most committed to gender equality is a source of pride for the entire INWIT team. This prestigious recognition reaffirms the strength of the ethical principles underpinning our corporate strategy, which are deeply integrated into our business model.”
Diego Galli, General Manager, INWIT
“INWIT’s inclusion among the top 100 Eurozone companies for gender equality recognizes the value of our commitment to placing DE&I at the core of our corporate strategy. We work every day to ensure that diversity and gender balance are recognized as key drivers of competitiveness and enablers of sustainable growth.”
Giovanna Bellezza, Human Resources & Organization Director, INWIT
To further strengthen its commitment to fostering a corporate culture focused on gender equality, INWIT joined the Women’s Empowerment Principles promoted by the UN Global Compact and UN Women in 2020, and since 2023 has obtained and renewed the UNI/PdR 125 Gender Equality certification.
Women currently represent 39% of INWIT’s workforce, a figure above both the telecommunications sector average (36.4%) and the Italian average (31.5%). Additionally, 34% of leadership roles (executives and middle management) are held by women, compared to 24% in 2020.
