INWIT Recognized Among the World’s 500 Most Sustainable Companies by TIME for the Second Consecutive Year

A confirmation of the value of a sustainable and inclusive business model, capable of generating positive impacts for people, the environment, and local communities.

In 2025, INWIT is once again included in the World’s Most Sustainable Companies, the prestigious ranking compiled by TIME in collaboration with Statista. This international recognition rewards, for the second year in a row, the concrete and integrated sustainability approach of Italy’s leading tower operator.

INWIT ranks 285th globally and 12th among the 22 Italian companies featured in the list. It is also one of only two Italian companies in the telecommunications sector.
“Being included in this prestigious ranking for the second consecutive year is further recognition of the effectiveness of the path INWIT has embarked on,” says Michelangelo Suigo, Director of External Relations, Communication, and Sustainability. “Our model is based on shared digital infrastructures, capable of responsibly generating value for the entire ecosystem, while concretely integrating sustainability into our corporate strategy.”

Key achievements supporting this recognition include:

  • Publication of the first Climate Transition Plan, with clear decarbonization targets;
  • Leadership in the CDP Climate Change program, with a top score of A;
  • Renewal of the UNI/PdR 125 certification on gender equality, with women making up 40% of staff—above both the national and industry averages;
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, ensuring robust environmental and occupational health and safety management systems;
  • Continued inclusion in the MIB ESG and FTSE4Good indices, which reward transparency and sustainability performance.

In the social sphere, INWIT’s commitment is also evident through actions promoting digital inclusion. The implementation of the PNRR’s Italy 5G Plan brought next-generation infrastructure to 1,385 market failure areas, helping to bridge the digital divide and create new opportunities for often marginalized communities and regions.

The TIME/Statista 2025 ranking is based on a rigorous four-stage selection process, starting from over 5,700 global companies and culminating in an analysis of environmental, social, and transparency indicators. Only companies with sustainable business models and demonstrable impact were included.

The recognition awarded to INWIT reaffirms the company’s leadership role in the sustainable evolution of digital infrastructure, contributing to the creation of a more connected, inclusive, and resilient society.
