B score in CDP Climate Change confirmed.
Significant progress in Business Strategy, Targets and Emissions reduction initiatives.

SUIGO (INWIT): “The B score in CDP Climate Change confirms the validity of our climate strategy, added to this year by the approval of our reduction target by the Science Based Target Initiative”.

Rome, 16 December 2022 – The path towards sustainable business commenced by INWIT continues with renewed recognition of transparency in its commitment to climate change by the international non-profit organization CDP.

INWIT has maintained the B score awarded last year. Italy’s top tower operator is among more than 18,700 companies reporting on their commitment to climate change in terms of governance, impact, risks and opportunities. The company has made significant progress in Business Strategy, Targets and Emissions reduction initiatives.

After the validation by Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), the inclusion in the FTSE4Good index and the rating upgrade by GREBS, confirmation of the score by CDP Climate Change is yet another addition to INWIT’s climate strategy launched over the last two years, which also includes transparent disclosure of its impact.

The company has brought forward its goal of carbon neutrality to 2024 and is committed to implementing concrete initiatives to reduce its emissions, through actions ranging from energy efficiency to the production and purchase of energy from renewable sources.

“With our Sustainability Plan, we have defined a climate strategy to best manage the impact of our business on climate change – said Michelangelo Suigo Head of External Relations, Communication and Sustainability at INWIT-. We have planned and launched a series of consistent initiatives, ranging from technology scouting for energy efficiency solutions to the production and purchase of energy from renewable sources. Our reduction targets have also been approved by the Science Based Target initiative, confirming the validity of this path”.
