INWIT is 2nd Italian company in the Diversity & Inclusion Top 100 index and 2nd in the Tlc sector
For the third year in a row in the Refinitiv index
Ferigo (INWIT): “Further confirmation of the strength of the transformation undertaken towards a sustainable business model”
Rome, 14 September 2021 – INWIT’s working environment has been rated one of the most inclusive in the world, as reported in Refinitiv’s 2021 Diversity & Inclusion Top 100 Index. The first Tower Company in Italy ranked 2nd out of Italian companies, 31st globally and 2nd in the telecommunications sector.
Every year, Refinitiv evaluates the performance of over 11,000 companies in terms of diversity and inclusion; it analyses public sources such as sustainability reports, financial reports, corporate websites and press reports, taking into account 24 metrics across 4 categories: Diversity, Inclusion, People Development and News and Controversies.
Following the Sustainability Plan guidelines – which for the People Development area aim to develop corporate identity and spread awareness on Diversity and Inclusion issues – INWIT moved to set up a people-focused D&I team, with the aim of promoting their well-being and developing and defining priorities on diversity and inclusion matters. One initial target it achieved was having an ad hoc D&I Policy set out and approved by the Board of Directors, which reflects INWIT’s commitment to promoting a corporate culture geared towards overcoming all forms of discrimination and prejudice, as well as its desire to make the workplace an inclusive and pluralistic environment.
“This result further confirms the strength of the transformation undertaken towards a sustainable business model – states INWIT’s CEO Giovanni Ferigo – where people are a key pillar of our strategy and the main lever for change and for spreading the culture of sustainability. We are very aware that a corporate culture which respects and includes diversity will be able to bring about change not only for our company, but for our stakeholders too”.
