Press Release

Swisscom CEO’s statements are false and misleading

7 May 2026

Milan, May 7th, 2026 – INWIT is, reluctantly, forced to correct the statements that Swisscom has, once again, imprudently made today on behalf of its Italian subsidiary Fastweb during its Q1 2026 conference call.

It is not true that INWIT has “refused to enter into discussions” with Fastweb, “ultimately forcing [it] to terminate the entire MSA contract”. The exact opposite is true: as it can easily be documented, INWIT has repeatedly offered Fastweb sound solutions to improve the terms of the MSA with a view to creating value for both parties, whilst also suggesting to address the topic of the MSA duration via an assisted negotiation or arbitration. Fastweb unreasonably chosen not to accept these proposals, countering them with an unfair ask to revise the terms of the MSA at financially exorbitant conditions, and always on a ‘take it or leave it’ basis. This was followed up by Fastweb with a civil action on the subject matter so to gain time, and in such context of INWIT was forced to file an application for an interim injunction, in order pursue, the necessary urgency, its rights.

INWIT reserves all rights and remedies.
