ISS ESG improves INWIT’s sustainability rating. Upgrade to ‘B-‘ and confirmation of Prime status
SUIGO (INWIT): “ISS’s improved ESG rating confirms the solidity of our intrinsically sustainable business model”
Rome, 11 November 2024 – INWIT, Italy’s leading digital infrastructure company, has had its ESG rating upgraded by Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), a global market leader in the assessment of ESG factors supporting responsible investment choices. INWIT’s rating has been upgraded from C+ to B-, confirming the ‘Prime’ status given to the best-in-class companies in each sector.
Among the factors that led to this recognition, ISS ESG points to INWIT’s progress in its sustainability strategy, which is reflected in operating practices and corporate policies geared towards protecting the environment, promoting inclusion and responsible governance, placing INWIT above the industry average for ESG performance.
“ISS’s improved ESG rating confirms the solidity of our intrinsically sustainable business model,” commented Michelangelo Suigo, Head of External Relations, Communications and Sustainability at INWIT. “Thanks to its digital and shared infrastructure, INWIT is a natural generator of industrial and economic efficiency for customers and social and environmental efficiency for the territory, local communities and the environment. This upgrade also recognises the soundness of INWIT’s Sustainability Plan and our contribution to reducing the environmental impacts of the business, promoting employee welfare and safety, and a governance system aimed at sustainable success”.
