INWIT enables connectivity with tailor-made digital solutions for indoor and outdoor environments. Our smart solutions enable a new generation of sustainable, shared digital services designed to simplify the lives of citizens, businesses and public administrations.
Smart cities and smart districts are made possible by integrated infrastructure such as towers, DAS and small cells, video cameras, IoT and Wi-Fi.
INWIT contributes to transforming cities into ecosystems.
Widespread connectivity enables the creation of new digital public services. A smart city is more attractive, safer and more sustainable, offering residents and tourists innovative digital services.
The multi-operator approach guarantees efficiency and cost reduction, while innovation paves the way for increasingly future-oriented solutions.
With the Italian 5G Plan of the PNRR, INWIT is enabling multi-operator mobile connectivity in 500 km² currently affected by the digital divide. INWIT has at least one tower in over 70% of Italian municipalities classified* as highly vulnerable in social and economic terms. This involves 3,160 municipalities with approximately 23.2 million residents, equal to over 91% of the population living in disadvantaged areas.
White areas, known as the digital divide, are territories where no operator has planned investments to provide broadband or ultra-broadband services because they are not economically viable. INWIT enables connectivity even in these places, helping to bridge the digital divide and generating new opportunities for residents, businesses and public administrations.
5G multi-operator connectivity, including via DAS technology, enables digital services in underground stations, railway stations and major transport hubs. INWIT makes modern, safe and seamless travel possible, facilitating constant connectivity for millions of passengers.
In addition to improving the customer experience, the network supports innovative applications such as advanced video surveillance, infomobility systems, and digital ticketing solutions. Transportation thus becomes an integral part of a smart ecosystem, where mobility and technology merge to make cities more efficient, sustainable, and citizen-friendly.
With its towers equipped with advanced sensors and AI video analysis systems, INWIT enables territorial monitoring for the timely detection of fires and other phenomena, such as flooding or other abnormal events. These solutions also allow real-time verification, activating alarm systems and other solutions to assess the evolution of events or automatically sending remote-controlled drones to assess the evolution of events from close range.
INWIT has also already launched a series of collaborations with leading environmental associations, such as WWF and Legambiente, to develop smart solutions for environmental monitoring.
