INWIT and JMA Wireless are trailblazers in the wireless communication sector by delivering the world’s first multi-band, multi-operator and mobile equipment, providing state-of-the art connectivity services in crowded areas, as a ready-made solution for large public events, by relying on the DAS (Distributed Antenna System) and XRan technologies.

Innovative technology comes in the shape of a multi-operator and multi-band system capable of delivering spotless voice and data service. The full potential of this groundbreaking technology was already experienced by thousands of enthusiastic spectators in one of Italy’s coolest summer events of 2019.

INWIT has provided to mobile operators with the means to deliver an enhanced coverage for select venues of the Jova Beach Party, the 2019 summer tour of Italian pop-star Lorenzo Jovanotti.

Tens of thousands of spectators simultaneously enjoyed seamless voice and data service, exploiting the improved connection to share video and pics on social networks.

Barletta, Praia a Mare, Roccella Jonica and Policoro were the seaside towns that hosted Jovanotti’s concerts, where spectators didn’t miss the opportunity to test the newly-installed equipment to capacity with a whirlwind of shared social content. The DAS system serving the Jova Beach Party was put in place in collaboration with JMA and Calzavara, while the set-up was performed in collaboration with Telebit.

In a world first, there’s been no need for each operator to use its own telco tower since INWIT provided its own hardware for each operator by leveraging its position as a neutral host.

This shiny new piece of equipment was designed to offer a multi-operator and multi-band solution, linked with a high-capacity system based on JMA TEKO DAS (Distributed Antenna System). What we’ve set up is capable of providing high-quality voice and data service (2G and 4G) while already featuring the XRAN solution, a virtual RAN that replaces traditional 4G hubs. The device is also already prepared for the new 5G technology.
