INOC, INWIT’s new Network Operation Center, was officially opened today at the Company’s Rome headquarters. It is the nerve center for the real-time monitoring and management of the Company’s entire technological infrastructure.
INOC is one of INWIT’s most significant strategic investments in recent years and marks the development of a fully proprietary asset, designed to ensure direct control over all network operations, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
An operational hub serving the national infrastructure
INOC monitors and supervises INWIT’s entire portfolio of digital infrastructure, including telecommunications towers, DASs (Distributed Antenna Systems), IoT sensors and gateways, thanks to a highly specialised team that operates independently and is able to receive reports and calls, manage work orders, address any service disruptions and handle extraordinary events.
The facility is built on established best practices: standardised processes for incident management and SLA compliance; a multidisciplinary team of qualified experts; near-real-time event management to anticipate critical issues; and advanced monitoring tools integrated with automation and artificial intelligence.
Efficiency, service quality and new business opportunities
The gradual insourcing of the NOC will enable INWIT to become even more efficient, to the benefit of all its customers, while also developing in-house expertise and increasing flexibility in the management of new services.
The new control center is also the first building-block in the development of a potential new business opportunity based on a NOC-as-a-Service model, designed for external customers and partners requiring advanced infrastructure monitoring services. The opening of INOC confirms INWIT’s commitment to strengthening its operational and technological capabilities, supporting connectivity across Italy and the quality of the digital infrastructure on which the country’s mobile networks are built.
