INWIT recognised as a leader in fighting climate change according to CDP Climate Change
INWIT achieves top ‘A’ rating for environmental performance in 2024
SUIGO (INWIT): “The ‘A’ score from CDP Climate Change is further confirmation of the success of our ‘inherently sustainable’ business model, which relies on digital and shared infrastructure, as well as the effectiveness of our sustainability plan.”
Rome, 7 February 2025 – INWIT stands out among global leaders in combating climate change, earning in 2024 an ‘A’ rating from CDP Climate Change, an international non-profit organisation specialised in environmental reporting. This marks a significant upgrade from its previous ‘A-’ score.
As one of Italy’s foremost digital infrastructure providers, INWIT stands out among more than 24,800 companies globally that have reported on their climate-related governance, impacts, risks and opportunities linked to climate change, for its strong climate governance and full integration of climate considerations into business strategies. Significant progress has been achieved by the company in the “risk and opportunities disclosure” and “targets” areas.
“The ‘A’ score from CDP Climate Change is further proof of the effectiveness of our sustainability plan and of the success of our ‘intrinsically sustainable’ business model, which relies on digital and shared infrastructures and demonstrates our ability to drive industrial, economic, social and environmental efficiency”, said Michelangelo Suigo, INWIT Head of External Relations, Communication and Sustainability.
Among the key sustainability initiatives introduced by INWIT in 2024 is the publication of its first Climate Transition Plan, which enhances and strengthens the company’s climate strategy. This move underscores INWIT’s commitment to a zero-emission future.
A major milestone for INWIT is its Net Zero target for 2040, which was officially validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in January 2024. This goal further solidifies the company’s strategy for transitioning to a low-carbon economy, complementing its 2030 emissions reduction target.
