THE RECOGNITION COMES FROM IL SOLE 24 ORE-STATISTA, WHICH AWARDS THE MOST SUSTAINABLE AND TRANSPARENT ITALIAN COMPANIES IN ESG REPORTING.
INWIT is confirmed as a sustainability leader in 2025 as well — for four consecutive years, the Digital Infrastructure Company has been recognised among the Italian companies that stand out for their sustainable and responsible practices, based on ESG (environmental, social and governance) performance.
After reviewing the sustainability reports of more than 2,000 companies, the “Sustainability Leaders” ranking recognises an exclusive group of 200 large companies and 40 SMEs for their innovative approach to ESG, certifying this year peaks of excellence particularly in workplace safety and transparency, an essential element of good governance.
Furthermore, according to Statista and Il Sole 24 Ore, all companies on the list acknowledge the value of sustainability reporting as a driver of organisational and business improvement — including energy and process efficiency — delivering concrete progress in environmental, social and corporate governance.
In particular, the ranking recognises INWIT’s best ESG performance in the areas of energy, safety and transparency. In 2024, the company published its first Climate Transition Plan, setting out its decarbonisation roadmap, where the main levers are the procurement and self-production of energy from renewable sources, alongside the adoption of innovative technologies to improve energy efficiency. In 2024 alone, INWIT reached 76% of its electricity consumption from renewable sources.
On health and safety, the company obtained ISO 45001 certification and drew up an Integrated Quality, Environment, Energy, Health and Safety at Work policy.
Its commitment to clear, transparent and responsible communication is ongoing, with the Integrated Report — containing the Financial Report and the annual Non-Financial Disclosure — serving as the primary tool for reporting environmental, social and governance performance and commitments, offering stakeholders a comprehensive and accessible view of results achieved and future objectives. The latest addition to this transparency journey is the Impact Study “The Value of INWIT for Italy” (conducted for INWIT by The European House – Ambrosetti), which measures the economic, environmental and social effects generated by its business model.
Inclusion among the “Sustainability Leaders” is a further recognition of the path INWIT has taken towards sustainable success and the implementation of an increasingly sustainable business model.
