INWIT has been confirmed as one of the world’s most sustainable companies for the third year in a row, featuring in the 2026 World’s Most Sustainable Companies ranking by TIME and Statista. This year, the recognition is even more important: the company ranks in the global top 100, coming 71st out of the 750 companies assessed. This means that the company has jumped by over 200 places compared to the previous year, with an overall score that increased from 63 to 84/100.
Nationally, INWIT is 6th of the 32 Italian companies on the list. Furthermore, in the Telecommunication Services sector, it ranks 9th out of 48 globally: the only Italian business present in the world’s top 10 for that category.
This result rewards the sustainability journey undertaken by INWIT, founded on clear targets, tangible action and measurable results. This commitment has translated into constant improvements in its ESG performance and to transparent reporting carried out in line with the most prestigious international standards.
One of the main factors contributing to this year’s result was the progress made on the climate strategy: the share of energy from renewable sources used by the company rose steadily from 56% in 2023, to 76% in 2024, reaching 100% in 2025. This confirms INWIT’s commitment to the path set out in the Climate Transition Plan towards achieving the Net Zero target by 2040, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The company’s climate leadership is also demonstrated by the A rating obtained in CDP’s Climate Change questionnaire, which is the highest rating possible.
On the social aspect, INWIT considers human capital to be a key element of its ESG strategy, promoting a culture based on inclusion, safety, well-being, valuing diversity and professional growth, with benefits for employees, stakeholders and competitiveness.
In 2025, the company renewed its UNI/PdR 125 certification for gender equality, and in March 2026 it joined the Euronext Equileap Gender Equality Eurozone 100 Index, which brings together the 100 listed companies in the Eurozone with the best gender equality performance. At INWIT, women make up 39% of the company population, which is higher than the telecommunications sector average (36.4%); women also hold 34% of managerial roles.
