INWIT Integrated Report 2024: the results of the path towards sustainable success

INWIT’s second Integrated Report is online, containing the Annual Financial Report and Non-Financial Information. Thanks to greater integration of financial aspects with industrial and sustainability ones, the document describes INWIT’s path and results towards pursuing sustainable success.

An increasingly sustainable business, from an economic and environmental point of view. This is the representation that emerges from INWIT’s 2024 Integrated Report, which provides our stakeholders with a timely account of the impacts of our activities on people, the environment and the territories that host our digital and shared infrastructures.

Leadership confirmed thanks to new infrastructures

In 2024 we continued to develop our business: thanks to investments of over 300 million euros (9% more than in 2023), our site portfolio reached a total of approximately 25 thousand towers, with over 900 new installations that consolidated our market leadership.

At the end of last year we also reached 610 on the front of multi-operator systems for indoor DAS (Distributed Antenna System) stations, thanks to new projects requested by operators, public administrations, hospital facilities and owners of real estate and industrial assets.

Significant progress has been made in the 5G Densification Plan of the PNRR for Italy, with the activation of 36% of the planned sites, in addition to the implementation of important infrastructure projects for integrated connectivity, including Fiera Milano. Also in Milan, we have completed the digital infrastructure on the entire Blue Line – M4 of Milan, the first metro line entirely covered in 5G in Italy and one of the first in Europe.

We are also at the forefront of the “Roma 5G” project: in 2024 we acquired exclusive control of Smart City Roma, the company that won the public-private partnership to transform Rome into a true smart city.

Attention to people and commitment to the climate

We are delighted to have achieved the Top Employers certification for the second consecutive year, in recognition of our ongoing commitment to the well-being and development of our people and to improving the working environment. As a demonstration of our passion for people, in 2024 we provided 40 hours of training per capita to employees and, in terms of gender equality, 31% of managers and executives in the company are women.

In the fight against climate change, our commitment has strengthened: we obtained an A score in the CDP Climate Change, the main rating that measures the climate commitments of companies; we published our first Climate Transition Plan, putting our Net Zero strategy for 2040 in black and white, and we reached 76% of electricity consumption from renewable sources.

In 2024 we achieved Carbon Neutrality, through the purchase of certified CO2 credits, contributing to the financing of climate action projects at a global level. With reference to ESG indices, our inclusion in the FTSE4Good was confirmed and we entered the Euronext MIB® ESG index of Borsa Italiana, the first ESG index dedicated to Italian blue-chips, designed to identify large Italian listed issuers that present the best ESG practices.

All economic and financial data improved

In 2024, our revenues exceeded one billion euros for the first time: 1,036 million euros, up 7.9% compared to 2023. The EBITDA margin after lease increased by 9.4%, reaching 72.4% in terms of revenue to revenue ratio, up one percentage point.

The past year also confirmed our ability to generate high cash flows, with 621 million euros of Recurring Free Cash Flow, +1.6%. The results mentioned above allowed us to distribute dividends for over 480.5 million euros, up 7.5% compared to 2023 and with further growth expected for 2025.
