Business sustainability and Play Original Program: INWIT’s values

INWIT is committed to complying with requirements for corporate social responsibility and to offering continuous training to its employees.

Sustainability is important for INWIT, also with regards to its own employees. In the last few years, in fact, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has spread in companies that are interested in their staff’s wellbeing and ethical questions that concern the industrial sector. The involvement, wellbeing and development of people is one of the pillars of INWIT’s sustainability strategy because a business culture oriented towards inclusion and the enhancement of diversity affects all stakeholders, generating a positive impact on the society in which it operates.

INWIT’s sustainability plan 2021-2023

Its so-called human capital is an added value in INWIT’s offer. At 31 December 2020, INWIT had 206 employees, of which 99% with a permanent contract. The number rose by 69% compared to the previous year and the increase in employees is linked to two factors: on the one hand, the merger with Vodafone Towers; on the other hand, the company policy of taking on new staff, bucking the trend in the current period of emergency and uncertainty due to the pandemic.

In 2020 99% of INWIT’s employees had a permanent and full-time contract

In order to maintain this virtuous characteristic which is a key aspect of the 2021-2023 Sustainability Plan, INWIT is constantly searching for new talented people. The selection of candidates is transparent and in line with its corporate policies, using numerous channels such as online platforms, specialized websites or collecting CV sent spontaneously by candidates. The recruiting and selection process, regulated by an internal procedure, complies with the regulations of the sector and with the company’s ethical sustainability code. In 2020 INWIT hired a total of 107 people, of which 49% aged between 30 and 50 years, 47% aged over 50 years and the remaining 5% of an age lower than 30. 34% of the people employed in the company are female.

The Play Original Program project

Training employees and integrating new arrivals are two fundamental values. This is the idea of the “Play Original Program”, a structured project of initiatives spread over the second half of the year, which involves activities dedicated to promoting and encouraging the process of integration, engagement and training of people, internal socialisation, the sharing of corporate objectives and challenges and the development of a sense of unitary identity.

INWIT is committed to valuing diversity as provided for in the 2021-2023 Sustainability Plan. One of the objectives of the People area is, in fact, identifying company priorities and policies on the theme of Diversity & Inclusion. As a demonstration of this commitment, the study drawn up by Refinitiv, “2020 Diversity & Inclusion Top 100 Index”, placed INWIT in 22nd place in the world and fourth in Italy for inclusivity in the work environment. Thank to continuous training, human capital is developed to the benefit of the entire company.
