Interview with Gianluca Staccoli, Mayor of the Municipality of Ariccia
For the editorial appointment “Digital and Shared Infrastructures – Let’s Network” – dedicated to the collaborations between INWIT, the municipalities and villages of Italy, today we are with Gianluca Staccoli, Mayor of the Municipality of Ariccia, an enchanting village located in the heart of the Castelli Romani, a crossroads of gastronomic traditions and historical-artistic heritage.
In this interview, the mayor wanted to explain the importance of shared and digital infrastructures to ensure that all residents of the area can connect efficiently and without interruptions.
“Reliable network coverage is essential since many services are available online and accessible from anywhere on mobile phones and tablets, without having to connect from home,” explained the mayor. “The Covid pandemic period has shown that these services are truly essential. It is difficult to physically go to a counter anymore because everything can be done via tablet or mobile phone. We municipalities, for example, have also made all our services accessible online – such as requesting a birth certificate, a residency certificate or participating in a tender. A mobile network with a stable connection has now become a fundamental tool.“
