Interview Francesco Basciu, Banari Sassari Mayor

For the column “๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ถ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฆ ๐˜‹๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช-๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ ๐˜™๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ”, dedicated to collaborations between INWIT, towns and cities of Italy, we discover Banari, a town in the province of Sassari.

Located in the ancient region of Meilogu, it represents one of the most authentic parts of Sardinia and its rich cultural heritage. While preserving its medieval origins, this small centre needed to be able to open a door to the future through capillary mobile network coverage, thus seizing the opportunities offered by digitisation.

Within the framework of the PNRR’s Italy 5G Plan and with the contribution of INWIT’s shared and digital infrastructures to support telecommunications operators, Banari now benefits from an improved signal that allows it to enhance its artistic and natural beauty, create new opportunities, and improve the quality of life of its citizens.

According to Banari Mayor Francesco Basciu:

โ€œAfter many attempts to solve our radio signal digitisation and reception problem, we have succeeded thanks to the contribution of INWIT and Vodafone and thanks to PNRR funds: the installation of the radio base station on our territory has put us on a par with the rest of the worldโ€
