GLIO (Global Listed Infrastructure Organization) is the representative organization of listed companies that manage infrastructure critical to the daily functioning of society and the global economy. The GLIO/GRESB ESG Index has a particular influence on the so-called Sri (Socially Responsible Investors), i.e. investors sensitive to ethical issues, who are increasingly aware of the importance for companies to comply with objectives related to ESG criteria. The agency assesses companies’ disclosure in the following areas: sustainability governance, sustainability implementation, operational performance data and stakeholder engagement practices.

GRESB Infrastructure Public Disclosure provides investors with a unique tool to measure material sustainability disclosure by listed infrastructure companies. Data is collected for all 140 companies in the GLIO Global Coverage Index.

The assessment is based on a set of indicators aligned with the GRESB Infrastructure Assessment, and enables a comparison of ESG disclosure performance between GRESB participants and non-participants. It also provides investors with a resource hub to access ESG disclosure documents in their listed investment portfolio. The rating agency’s documents are categorized as follows: sustainability governance disclosure, sustainability implementation disclosure, operational performance disclosure, and stakeholder engagement practices disclosure.

This result follows the upgrade of MSCI’s ESG rating from BBB to A, the improvement of Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Rating from Medium Risk to Low Risk and the inclusion of INWIT in Refinitiv’s Diversity & Inclusion Top 100 index as the second company in the telecommunications sector globally and the second company in Italy.
