INWIT and the Association of the Sovereign Order of Malta for the health of the future 5G Ready

INWIT and the Association of Italian Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, signed a partnership for the implementation of 5G ready multi-operator mobile indoor coverage solutions in the San Giovanni Battista hospital in Rome and in the headquarters of the Association of the Knights of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Piazza del Grillo.

INWIT will install a network of infrastructures called DAS (Distributed Antenna System), micro antennas that will allow to develop and enable new digital services also in the E-Health, field, preserving the aesthetic and cultural beauty of the buildings.

In this way, it will be possible to enjoy a stable and fast connection with maximum performance, even in closed environments where the signal, in normal conditions, is hard to reach. This will benefit not only the healthcare personnel who work in the facilities, but also patients and their families, as well as visitors and workers in the historic building in Piazza del Grillo.

“Our mission to digitize the country in support of mobile operators is continuing. This system will enable the development of telemedicine, facilitating the work of healthcare personnel, which aims to improve the quality of life not only of patients inside hospitals, but also of all those people suffering from diseases and confined to their homes. With DAS technology we are able to have modern, advanced facilities, while safeguarding the historical and artistic heritage,” said Giovanni Ferigo, CEO of INWIT.

Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, President of ACISMOM, also emphasised how important it is to continue to invest in research in order to be increasingly efficient and provide new innovative services to hospitals such as San Giovanni Battista in Rome, a leading reality in the world of rehabilitation.
