INWIT is among the first signatories of the Manifesto “Enterprises for People and Society” promoted by the UN Global Compact Network Italy

Our company reinforces the centrality of the social dimension in its sustainability strategy.

Over the past decade, the battle against inequality, absolute poverty, social marginalisation and climate change has assumed major global relevance. Ensuring sustainable development, growth and economic prosperity has become a fundamental objective not only for governments, but also for businesses, which are now called upon to promote sustainability in order to create value in various areas: from the quality of work and well-being of employees, to the communities and territories in which they operate; from active policies for the different generations, to an active commitment towards reducing social and gender inequalities, to encouraging positive practices of dignified work and the protection of human rights

It is with this spirit that INWIT decided to be among the first 15 signatories promoting the Manifesto “Businesses for People and Society”, promoted by the UN Global Compact Network Italy during the eighth edition of the Business & SDGs High-Level Meeting, attended by our General Manager Diego Galli.

The Manifesto aims to foster a growing engagement of the private sector in the social dimension of sustainability within companies, along supply chains and in communities.

“The social dimension is central to INWIT’s strategy,” explained Diego Galli, Managing Director of INWIT. With the “Tower as a service” model, we create shared digital infrastructures that are also able to reduce social inequalities and territorial fragilities and enable technologies, such as 5G and FWA, that can provide an important contribution to the sustainable growth and development of territories and businesses”.

By signing the Manifesto, therefore, INWIT intends to further strengthen the social dimension’s role in its corporate strategy to generate long-term value in the supply chain and in the communities in which it operates, with the aim of contributing to ensuring a fair and sustainable future for generations to come

The United Nations Global Compact, which INWIT has been a member of since 2020, is a special initiative of the UN General Secretary whose mandate is to guide and support the global business community in promoting the goals and values of the United Nations through responsible business practices. With more than 20,000 companies and over 3,000 non-profit signatories based in 162 countries and 69 local networks, the United Nations Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world
