TourFOR5G 2024 comes to Ancona
TourFOR5G’s second event of the year was held on Monday, 25 March at 11:30 in the Council Chamber of Ancona’s City Hall.
The meeting “Le infrastrutture digitali per lo sviluppo dei territori” was the ninth stop on the traveling road show organized by INWIT alongside Fondazione Ottimisti&Razionali to promote the value of digital and shared infrastructure and the benefits of 5G technology for local development, aiming to reduce the digital divide.
As usual, institutional representatives and experts were in attendance:
- Antonella Andreoli, IT Affairs Councilor – Municipality of Ancona
- Andrea Maria Antonini, Councilor for Economic development and Digitalisation – Marche region
- Guido Castelli, Extraordinary Commissioner for Earthquake Reconstruction 2016 and Senator
- Oscar Cicchetti, President of INWIT
- Romina Nespeca, Researcher in Digitization of Cultural heritage – UNIVPM
The event was moderated by Claudio Velardi, President of Fondazione Ottimisti& Razionali.
“Digital and shared infrastructure is an essential pillar for the social and economic development of Marche,” said Oscar Cicchetti, President of INWIT. Through 2026, we’ve planned to invest a total of about 12 million euro in Marche, constructing roughly 85 mobile telecommunications infrastructure sites, over 40 of which fall under the Italy 5G Plan in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, to encourage the development of a cutting-edge technology even in more disadvantaged areas experiencing market failure.”
