INWIT obtains UNI/PdR 125:2022 Certification for Gender Equality
An important recognition that certifies our path towards creating a more equal working environment.
INWIT has achieved Gender Equality Certification in compliance with UNI/PdR 125:2022, an important acknowledgement that testifies to the value of the path taken towards the creation of a fairer and more sustainable working environment.
The organisation’s inclusiveness and gender equality were verified by Bureau Veritas – a world leader in certification and audit services in the fields of Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility – through the evaluation of six specific areas: culture and strategy, governance, HR processes, opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in the company, gender pay equity, parental protection and work-life balance.
“The certification obtained is the result of a path that we have been following for some years and which underlines the effectiveness of the approach adopted, as well as attesting to how gender equality is now in our culture and an integral part of our organisation’s DNA,” said Donatella Colantoni, Human Resources & Organisation Director at INWIT. “We strongly believe in the potential of every single person in the company and we have always tried to integrate talents and skills without discrimination of any kind, sure that this is the only way to truly create value for the entire organisation”.
In line with the strategy to integrate sustainability into our sustainable business model, since the birth of the “new INWIT” in 2020 the company has aimed to incorporate gender equality into its DNA and make the workplace a fair, inclusive, welcoming and diverse environment.
After adopting a Diversity & Inclusion Policy and later a Gender Equality Policy, in 2023 INWIT implemented a Gender Equality Management System compliant with the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Reference Practice, taking concrete measures to reduce the gender gap in terms of growth opportunities, equal pay, jobs roles, gender diversity management and parental protection.
The Gender Equality Certification follows other recognitions that INWIT has obtained with reference to inclusion issues. These include the company’s inclusion in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), an index that provides investors with detailed information to assess commitment to gender equality among the largest listed companies globally; in June, INWIT was confirmed in the FTSE4Good index, a global ranking of companies based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
This important achievement, therefore, is the result of an ongoing commitment to valuing our people with no discrimination, providing opportunities for all and embracing diversity.
